This national business model provides guidance and resources in the form of (1) Entrepreneur Training, (2) Business Lending, (3) Technical Assistance and (4) Business Incubators & Real Estate Activities.
Entrepreneur Training
Culturally-competent training is central to building trust in any neighborhood in which Incubate Neighborhood Center works, while also providing community members with access to resources that have not been available elsewhere. This ensures authentic community engagement and effectiveness.
Business Lending
Addresses the needs of new and existing entrepreneurs who cannot obtain conventional bank loans and are often faced with a limited number of high-interest financing and predatory options. Character-based lending focuses more on the attributes, experience, and social assets of the individual beyond their credit score, collateral, and cash.
Technical Assistance
Technical Assistance enables INC to improve a business’s competencies essential for success in the marketplace. Technical assistance comes in several forms:
Business Incubators & Real Estate Activities
Highly visible, affordable, and sustainable commercial spaces are crucial to a small business's success and the economic transformation of communities. INC will offer incubator spaces to businesses. The goal is to restore properties and create dynamic spaces in which small businesses can start and grow.
In addition, INC is able to provide services to entrepreneurs who are looking to lease a space and assist in the rehabilitation of the space. Rehabilitation of commercial spaces within highly visible commercial corridors is vital to shifting the negative narrative of a neighborhood to a hopeful one.
This program is geared toward youth ages 10-17 years old.
