Community Hub

INC is a community hub within Lincoln Park. The HUB is an ecosystem of partners, businesses and social service entities that together will provide much needed resources and services. The HUB will also be a complement to our Dream Home program, CEO program, and WORKed program classes, case management, and community workspace. These comprehensive efforts in turn will build community capacity and will result in not only equal, but equitable access for residents.

It seems fitting that INC has been blessed to negotiate with the City of Fort Pierce to lease space and be housed in the two-story historic Means Court Building, originally known as Means Court School. The school was formed sometime before the 1920’s and was the only school for African Americans in St. Lucie County. The school originally taught students through eighth grade, and in 1928 expanded classes through high school. At that time, it changed its name to Lincoln Park Academy, one of the few high schools in the south educating African Americans – drawing students from around the state who were eager to obtain an education and a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

The works of INC and their role in the community hub is not possible without financial support.  Please consider supporting our mission so that we can further meet the needs of this hurting community. Thank you.
